Well, don't worry...beacuse CCR are bringing a bit of it to our shores!
On Oct 17th and 18th 2009, we are very pleased to announce the very first "Grange Hell - roller derby academy" with our newest teachers for the term ESTRO JEN - founder of the Angel City Derby Girls and BONNIE.D.STROIR - founder of the San Diego Derby Dolls, both of whom are seasoned Derby veterans, Roller con coaches and Blood & Thunder training camp instructors straight from the US of A.
The two girls will be putting you through your paces in a two day derby extravaganza with coaching on skills, strategy, help with running a league, coaching for the coaches and inside knowledge to help you develop your league and progress derby within the UK.
Tickets for the whole weekend are £25 per skater (who should have full kit and meet minimum skills requirements as outlined by WFTDA) and price also includes entrance to the exclusive after party school disco on the Saturday night where you can show off your skills on the dance floor as well as your skills on the track during the day.
Tickets will be onsale shortly and to register your interest please send an email to the schools head boy Twisted Mister atcentralcityrollergirls@blueyonder.co.uk and make the subject "Grange Hell" and your league affiliation so "Grange Hell LRG", "Grange Hell ARRG" etc etc so we know who wants to come from where...This event is open to all leagues, new and established so if you are just starting out don't worry as this ideal for you to come along to and take back a wealth of knowledge.
CCR can provide information on where to stay and will be emailing out information pack to those who purchase a ticket with all the weekends details

Summer Horror Day - 22/08/09 Leeds Roller Dolls announce their first home bout against their neighbours the Sheffield Steel Roller Girls, with this being Sheffield's first ever bout. It will be held at Leeds Royal Armouries in Savilles hall, with Leeds sporting their new team name The Rotten Rollers in a zombie themed extravaganza. WIth a cocktail bar and a half time zombie fancy dress competition this looks like a bout that can't be missed. Doors at 3 with the bout starting at 4.30. Glasgow Roller Girls announce an exciting double header - The GRG's will announce soon an Expo Team to play against Romsey Town Rollerbillies in the first bout, whilst GRG's travel team Irn Bruisers will play visitors Rainy City Roller Girls.
